NH-D15 chromax.black low cooling performance? I feel very underwhelmed by the performance of the D15. at stock settings 9700k turbo to 4.7ghz the D15 fails to keep my temps in check during a Prime95 blend test. within a minute cores are hitting 100c. I have remounted it 2 times now with the same results.
DefinitlyNotALab. • 1 yr. ago. I switched from an NH-D15 to a 420mm AiO and it’s not necessary unless you don’t like the noise of the D15 at 100% Load. The temperatures are about the same at full load, the Noctua is a bit warmer in Idle and in Gaming. You need to optimize your voltage for either cooler to keep it below 100C at 100% load.
Two running at say 40-50% for example sounds less annoying than one running at 80%. d15 is just built different, while your scenario might be less noisy you shouldn't need to run the fan at 80%. i personally capped mine at 65%. edit: actually i think if a15 and a12x25 are both ran at 50% it would be less noisy but performing worse than a15 at
The NM-AMB12 are offset AM5 mounting bars for Noctua CPU coolers with 83mm mounting pitch that require their mounting points at the north and south side of the socket for optimal orientation, such as the popular NH-D15(S), NH-D14, NH-C14S or NH-D9L (see detailed compatibility list).
Here's what I've observed with my 12 900 k running a NH-D15: CPU Temps: Ambient Room Temp 22°c - Stock voltage & clock settings. Idle = 30°c. Cyberpunk 2077 = 55°c. Looped 3DMark CPU Profile, "Max Threads" = 72°c. Cinebench R23 (Unlimited Power Limit) = Thermal throttles after ~90 seconds.
I have a Noctua NH-D15 with an EVGA RTX 2070 XC, and Corsair Vengeance LPX. The graphics card is a non issue. For the RAM though, if you want to use the second fan it should be low profile or your case needs to be thick as hell because the fan will stick out above the radiator. You basically need to delid (for an i7 8700k) for the second fan to
Noctua makes some of the best CPU coolers around, but personally, I've never been a fan of the beige, brown, and silver color combination. Noctua showed all-black versions of the NH-D15, NH
NH-D15 and 5600x. 65-70w load with 1.2v undervolt and temp goes to 71-72c while benchmarking and fans are at full speed. I see gamers nexus tests on this cooler and much higher wattage top end cpus run cooler than my 5600x. I even have the side panel removed. Is it maybe not touching the cpu correctly ?
